Dinky Dog is a seat that is placed on the front of the bike, secured with mountain brackets – if your dog is small they will need a booster seat and cushion. Medium-sized dogs don’t require a booster, just the basic seat and cushion. It also has an adjustable paw rest for your dogs posture and comfort. Dinky Dog is designed for pups up to 14kg. The weight of the dog is over the middle axle, and there are harnesses, so absolutely nothing can happen to your dog.
Dinky Dog users range from seniors and their pets who are their life companions, to the other end of the spectrum where there are younger ones that absolutely love the idea of riding with their dog. Wayne says, “so really, there are so many different age brackets. People are normally taking their dogs just for a ride or down the beach because a lot of smaller dogs can’t run far”.

If you’ve seen people riding bikes around Newcastle with their pup sitting on a seat up front and thought, “wow, what a great idea, this is the Newcastle designed Dinky Dog. Inspired by the classic infant bike seat, and after four years of designing, testing and redesigning, the Dinky Dog seat was born and is more popular than owner Wayne Kelly could have dreamt!
Wayne has created a perfect product for those who use cycles as their main transportation as well as people on the move, who love to explore and enjoy bringing their furry best friend along for the ride. “It’s just tremendous for the dogs and the owners to be able to bond. Everything has been thought through and is extremely safe for the rider and the dog.”
